There is a maximum of 4 people per group attending together in a class in order to keep the class diverse. Thank you for understanding.
Baking the perfect pie is something every baker strives for. In this class we will take the fear away from working with pie dough and each make a beautiful Sour Cream Cherry Pie - one of the bake shop's more popular items. We will also try our hand at galettes, a quick hand pie that can be easily whipped up with whatever fruit you have in season. Lastly, it's not a pie class without talking about the dough its self. Each student will go home with some pie dough to continue baking pies at home.
In this class you will learn how to make a Duchess staff favourite. From the chiffon cake to the lemon cream, each step will be covered, including toasting the meringue. Each student will leave with a full-sized cake.
The world of bread is unlimited. In this class we will continue our bread series and explore two new varieties of yeast raised bread products. We will discuss different kinds of yeast and have you become comfortable in making fresh bread from home.
Ever wanted to learn to make fresh, warm doughnuts at home? But are nervous about everything involved? Let us walk you through, step-by-step everything from mixing, to proofing, to frying so you can feel comfortable making these classic pastries at home.
In this class you’ll learn to make some of the Bake Shop’s most asked-about recipes. These recipes are sure to become your family's favourites as well.
The best gifts are edible gifts! Learn to make soft chewy caramels, nougat & chocolate truffles. Take home a collection of candy ready to be gifted just in time for Valentine's Day. (This class is considered "gluten free", however we do have flour in the facility and cannot guarantee no cross contamination).
The Josephine Tart comes into Duchess Bake Shop every February and is one of the most popular tarts every year. In this class we will break down all the components of this classic tart.
The decadent chocolate Duke Cake is one of our best-selling items at Duchess Bake Shop. This cake may look intimidating, but in this class we will take you though each recipe step-by-step while you bake & decorate your own perfect Duke Cake. This class is for the chocolate lover, we will finish the class off with a chocolate tasting of some of our favourite Valrohna chocolates and talk about how chocolate is made.

There is so much more you can make with pie dough than just a pie. In this class we will take our classic Duchess pie dough and shape a delicious galette - a free formed, hand shaped cake. We will also make individual sized quiche and a banana cream pie.
This class was created to provide introductory baking knowledge as well as welcoming the next generation of Duchess Atelier Bakers into the kitchen. In this class we are going to teach you how to properly scale and prepare your recipes, and learn some basic baking techniques that you can use to feel more comfortable in your kitchen at home.
*Please note that in this class, adults & children (7 years old and older) are welcome. Each adult & child will need their own ticket and will be paired together at one station.
