      HOLIDAY BAKING CLASSES

      Holiday classes launch Tuesday, November 5th at Noon

      All tickets are sold per person.

      Children ages 8-15 are welcome to attend classes with an adult. Both adult and child must have their own ticket.

      Children 16 and up can attend on their own without an adult. Please be mindful that if your child comes alone, they will be paired with someone else in the class. 

      Please note the class time when purchasing your ticket. Not all class times are the same. It is the student's responsibility to note the date and time of the class they are registered for. Refunds will not be issued for classes that are missed. 

      All Students will be paired in groups of two.

      • We believe that baking brings people together. We try to balance our classes with a mix of individual and team recipes.
      • If you purchase a single ticket you will be paired with another student.
      • If you purchase two tickets you will be paired together.
      • If you purchase three tickets, two people will be paired together and one person will be paired with another student.
      • Classes titled "Kids Baking" are the only classes where an adult and child can attend a class together under the same ticket. 

      BÛCHE DE NÖEL | $175

      Celebrate the season by learning to craft the classic French Bûche de Noël! In this hands-on class, you’ll create a light sponge cake, fill it with luscious cream, and shape it into a festive yule log. Plus, master decoration techniques to add charming, edible details like meringue mushrooms. Perfect for all skill levels, this class will help you make a show-stopping holiday centre piece to share and enjoy!

        CHRISTMAS CONFECTIONS & TEMPERED CHOCOLATE | $175

         

        Indulge in the art of holiday treat-making with Duchess Atelier. This class is perfect for those who want to create elegant and delicious homemade gifts. You'll learn to craft a collection of irresistible holiday confections: rich, buttery soft salted caramels and crunchy spiced nuts with a festive twist. You will also learn an introduction to tempering chocolate, the essential process required to create glossy, professional style chocolates. Our instructors will guide you through the techniques for each recipe, ensuring you leave with the confidence to replicate these beautiful confections at home. Whether you're looking to impress guests or prepare edible gifts, this class will elevate your holiday baking repertoire!

          CHRISTMAS COOKIE BOX | $175

          Get into the holiday spirit with our festive favourite, Christmas Cookies! In this hands-on class, you'll learn to bake a delightful assortment of Duchess Bake Shop's classic holiday cookies. Perfect for sharing or gifting. From our buttery peppermint shortbread, chewy dark chocolate meringues, spicy double ginger cookies and classic mincemeat* pie dough pinwheels, you'll master essential techniques for mixing, baking, and decorating. Whether you're a seasoned baker or a beginner, this class offers something for everyone. By the end of the session, you'll leave with a box of your own homemade cookies to share with your family, and friends (maybe even Santa)! 

          * the mincemeat does not contain any animal products, our mincemeat is a spicy combination of dried fruits with alcohol.

            CHRISTMAS COOKIE DECORATING | $95

             

            Prepare to impress Santa Claus! In our classic Atelier cookie decorating classes we will show you how to use royal icing, sparkly sugar and sprinkles, to transform your cookies into edible works of art. Get ready to unleash your creativity and let your imagination run wild as you design your own unique holiday masterpieces. This is a great class for kids! - Both adults and children attending must have their own ticket. This class is great for kids 6 and up! 

            Dates: 

            • Sunday, December 22nd | 10am-12pm & 2pm-4pm
            • Monday, December 23rd | 10am-12pm, 2pm-4pm & 6pm-8pm

              KIDS BAKING CLASSES 

              *Each $210 ticket can accommodate the following scenarios:

              • 1-2 Adults and 1 child ranging in age of 6 yrs old to 17 yrs old
              • 1 Adult and 2 children ranging in age of 6 yrs old to 17 yrs old
              • If you are 14 yrs old to 17 yrs old with a companion that is also 14 yrs to 17 yrs, they may attend without adult supervision with one $210 ticket.
              • Between adults and children there is a maximum of 3 people per station allowed.
              • Please use this time to spend undivided attention to your child within the correct age range. If children, including babies who are under 6 yrs old arrive for the class, you will be asked to leave and will not receive a refund. This is for the comfort and safety of your kids as well as others attending.

              KIDS BAKING - BAKE SHOP FAVOURITES | $210

               

              Bring your child to one of Duchess Atelier's most popular classes; Bake Shop Favourites. Your kids will learn to make raspberry white chocolate scones, key lime pies and florentines. They will learn how to scale a recipe using a kitchen scale as well as use a cook top to cook their Florentine caramel.

              KIDS BAKING - BEGINNERS | $210

               

              While the kids are off from school bring them to Atelier to learn some baking fundamentals and get them more comfortable in the kitchen. Learn how to use a kitchen scale, stand mixer and a stove top while making some of our favourite Duchess Bakeshop recipes.

                  KIDS BAKING - CHRISTMAS COOKIES | $210

                      KIDS BAKING - DOUGHNUTS | $210

                      Ever wanted to learn to make fresh, warm doughnuts at home? But are nervous about everything involved? Let us walk you through, step-by-step everything from mixing, to proofing, to frying so you can feel comfortable making these classic pastries at home. 

                      *IMPORTANT* This class uses hot oil. We will not be allowing the kids to place their doughnuts in the oil, this will be done by the adult they come with. It is up to the parents to determine if this class is a good suit for their child. The kids will still be able to roll and cut out their doughnuts, decorate, fill and of course eat their fresh doughnuts.

                        WORKSHOPS WITH CAMILLA WYNNE 

                        Camilla Wynne is back in Atelier ready to teach you all about canning & candying various fruit. 

                        JAM & MARMALADE WORKSHOP | $125

                         

                        Join Master Preserver Camilla Wynne, author of 'Jam Bake: Inspired Recipes for Creating and Baking with Preserves' for a preserving workshop focused on transforming fruit into delicious jams and compotes! In this workshop we will discuss the science of safe canning and how to make the best preserves using less sugar and no added pectin. Camilla will expertly demonstrate how to prepare one seasonal jam recipe and one compote recipe. You will leave the class with a jar of each preserve, ready to tackle any jam-making project, and able to safely and creatively concoct your very own recipes.

                          NATURE'S CANDY WORKSHOP WITH CAMILLA WYNNE | $125

                          Join Master Preserver, Camilla Wynne, pastry chef and author of Nature's Candyfor a preserving workshop focused on how to transform nature’s candy into actual candy to use in baking and confections or to enjoy straight up!

                          In this workshop you will learn how to make exquisite candied fruit and citrus peel while making your own candied pineapple slices. You'll learn different techniques for a variety of fruits and desired results, as well as how to store them, serve them, and bake with them.
