JULY 2024 CLASS SCHEDULE

TICKETS ARE SOLD PER PERSON UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED

PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME CLASS TIMES HAVE RECENTLY CHANGED. IT IS THE STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTE THE DATE AND TIME OF THE CLASS THEY ARE REGISTERED FOR. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE ISSUED FOR CLASSES THAT ARE MISSED. 

All Students will be paired in groups of two.

  • If you purchase a single ticket you will be paired with another student.
  • If you purchase two tickets you will be paired together.
  • If you purchase three tickets, two people will be paired together and one person will be paired with another student.

 

    YEAST RAISED DOUGHNUTS | $175

     

    Ever wanted to learn to make fresh, warm doughnuts at home? But are nervous about everything involved? Let us walk you through, step-by-step everything from mixing, to proofing, to frying so you can feel comfortable making these classic pastries at home.

    DUKE CAKE | $175

    The decadent chocolate Duke Cake is one of our best-selling items at Duchess Bake Shop. This cake may look intimidating, but in this class we will take you though each recipe step-by-step while you bake & decorate your own perfect Duke Cake. This class is for the chocolate lover, we will finish the class off with a chocolate tasting of some of our favourite Valrohna chocolates and talk about how chocolate is made.

    LEMON MERINGUE CAKE | $175

    In this class you will learn how to make a Duchess staff favourite. From the chiffon cake to the lemon cream, each step will be covered, including toasting the meringue. Each student will leave with a full-sized cake.

      PIES - SOUR CREAM CHERRY PIE & APPLE GALETTES | $175

      Baking the perfect pie is something every baker strives for. In this class we will take the fear away from working with pie dough and each make a beautiful Sour Cream Cherry Pie - one of the bake shop's more popular items. We will also try our hand at galettes, a quick hand pie that can be easily whipped up with whatever fruit you have in season. Lastly, it's not a pie class without talking about the dough its self. Each student will go home with some pie dough to continue baking pies at home.

        FOCACCIA & MORE | $175

         

        Flour, water, yeast and salt are all you need to make delicious bread. We are going to take that one step further and include a pre-ferment to bake delicious, fresh focaccia bread. We will also use a simple milk bun dough to make classic dinner buns or garlic pull-apart bread, you pick!. The class will finish off with a tasting of our freshly baked focaccia and home made whipped ricotta. You will go home feeling more confident in baking bread in your own kitchen.

        KIDS - PIE BASICS | $210 PER STATION

        While the kids are off from school bring them to Atelier to learn some baking fundamentals and get them more comfortable in the kitchen. Learn how to use a kitchen scale, stand mixer and a stove top while making some of our favourite Duchess Bakeshop recipes. 

        In this kids class we will learn to roll pie dough and shape a pie. Each student will also make their own mini chocolate cream pie. We will finish the class off by learning how to make pie dough, that you will get to take home. 

        *Each $210 ticket can accommodate the following scenarios:

        • 1 Adult and 1 child ranging in age of 6 yrs old to 17 yrs old
        • 1 Adult and 2 children ranging in age of 6 yrs old to 17 yrs old
        • If you are 14 yrs old to 17 yrs old with a companion that is also 14 yrs to 17 yrs, they may attend without adult supervision with one $210 ticket.

        After registration we will reach out to confirm the number of attendees and their ages.

        KIDS - BAKE SHOP FAVOURITES | $210 PER STATION

        While the kids are off from school bring them to Atelier to learn some baking fundamentals and get them more comfortable in the kitchen. Bring your child to one of Duchess Atelier's most popular classes; Bake Shop Favourites. Your kids will learn to make raspberry white chocolate scones, key lime pies and florentines. They will learn how to scale a recipe using a kitchen scale as well as use a cook top to cook their Florentine caramel. 

        *Each $210 ticket can accommodate the following scenarios:

        • 1 Adult and 1 child ranging in age of 6 yrs old to 17 yrs old
        • 1 Adult and 2 children ranging in age of 6 yrs old to 17 yrs old
        • If you are 14 yrs old to 17 yrs old with a companion that is also 14 yrs to 17 yrs, they may attend without adult supervision with one $210 ticket.

        In this class you’ll learn to make some of the Bake Shop’s most asked-about recipes. These recipes are sure to become your family's favourites as well.

        BREAD - CINNAMON BUNS & BABKA | $175

        Enriched breads are yeast products that contain the addition of fat (butter or oil) and eggs. In this highly requested class we are going to cover everyone's favourite addition to brunch, Cinnamon buns! Another very popular type of enriched bread is babka. This soft textured bread is twisted together with chocolate fudge and makes the most beautiful treat.

        SUMMER COOKIE BOX | $175

        Take your baking skills to the next level with our Summer Cookie Box class! This baking class will teach you how to create delicious summer-themed treats. Impress your friends and family at your next bbq or camping trip with a fresh set of recipes to suit everyone!

          SUMMER DESSERTS | $175

          We are ready to kick off summer with the return of "Summer Desserts". In this class we will tackle pavlova, a sweet refreshing dessert that pairs perfectly with fresh fruit from the farmer's market and your favourite fruit curd. Semifreddo, the less complicated alternative to ice cream where you don't need to have an ice cream maker to enjoy this cold dessert. Lastly we will finish off the class with mountain muffins, the best snack for those summer hikes, camping trips and adventures to the playground. Filled with plenty of fresh fruit and topped with a crispy oat topping.  We have been waiting months to bring this class back and the hopeful return of summer days! 

          *It is suggested to bring cooler with you to class to transport your semifreddo home"
